Fat loss
Lose the fat. Keep it off.
No crash diets, no gimmicks. A realistic plan, proper coaching and the accountability to see it through, so the results last.
Keep it off.
The problem
Why is fat loss so hard?
The science is simple: consistently use more energy than you take in and you'll lose fat.
So why do so many people struggle to keep a healthy weight, whatever they try? There's no single answer, but I see the same mistakes again and again:
- All-or-nothing thinking
- Unrealistic goals and timescales
- Strict diets you can't stick to
- Not knowing how to eat well
- Underestimating what you actually eat
- Jumping from one fad to the next
- Doing only cardio
- No one keeping you accountable
- Thinking short term, not long term
not perfection
Consistency leaves clues
Results shouldn't come down to luck
Too many people get a plan, get left to it, and hope for the best. That's not how I work.
Every client follows a clear structure with regular check-ins, so you always know what to do next and someone notices when things slip. If you commit and follow the plan, you give yourself the best possible chance of results that change your life, just like the clients below.
Real clients, shared with permission. Individual results vary.
Measured, not guessed
A measured approach to fat loss
Everything we do is based on proven principles and backed by what we track. That way you can see exactly what's working, and we can adjust quickly when something isn't.
- Body weight trends, not single weigh-ins
- Body measurements, including your waist
- Progress photos
- Strength in the gym
- Daily habits: steps, sleep, food and stress
Losing fat, especially around the middle, also helps blood pressure, blood sugar and long-term health.
Change it.
Myths
Fat loss myths
Fat loss is a process, not magic. But after trying and failing a few times, it's easy to start believing things that simply aren't true. Tap each one to see the truth.
"I have a slow metabolism."
Metabolism varies less between people than most think. What usually makes the difference is how much you move, how much muscle you carry and what you really eat. All of those can be changed.
"I'm too old to lose weight."
Age can make it a little slower, but it doesn't stop you. Strength training, enough protein and consistent habits work at any age.
"It's my genetics."
Genes can influence where you store fat and how easily you gain it, but they don't decide your results. The right approach works for almost everyone.
"I've tried everything."
Most people have tried lots of things for a short time. What works is one sensible plan, followed consistently, with support when life gets in the way.
"I need to cut out carbs, or do hours of cardio."
No. You can eat foods you enjoy, carbs included. Strength training and daily steps do more for lasting fat loss than endless cardio.
With the right approach, you can lose fat, whatever your age, ability or starting point.
Just method.

Common questions
Fat loss: your questions answered
How quickly will I lose weight?
Most people lose steadily week by week, and a slow, steady rate is the one that lasts. Your pace depends on your starting point, your plan and your consistency. We'll set realistic targets together.
Will I have to count calories?
Not forever. Tracking for a while can help you learn portion sizes, but the aim is for you to eat well without needing an app for life.
Can I still eat foods I enjoy?
Yes. A plan that bans your favourite foods won't last. We build in the things you enjoy, in amounts that still get results.
Will I lose muscle as well as fat?
Not if we get it right. Strength training and enough protein protect your muscle, so the weight you lose is mainly fat.
How do I keep the weight off?
By building habits you can keep for life, and by learning how to adjust when life changes. That's why coaching and education are part of everything I do.
Do you coach online or in person?
Both. I coach in person at The Gym Group in Handforth, and online through my coaching app with regular check-ins, wherever you are.
